Jacqueline Jax logo photoFiguring out the best makeup looks for every occasion can be difficult. Most of us tend to stick with our go to look but that just doesn’t work for everything so I thought you may enjoy taking a peak at the latest seasonal makeup trends. Let me know which one’s are your favorites.

Cara Delevingne’s Soft Smoky Eye
If a smoky eye feels a little too much for you, try rocking a less intense version of the trend like “it” girl Cara Delevigne. Layer nude and light gray shadows, but skip the eyeliner altogether and add mascara to only your top lashes.

 Red Matte Lipstick Trend

Holiday sparkle is fun, but a totally matte look can be just as striking! To get the Revenge star’s flawless face, apply a primer specifically designed to soak up oils before applying liquid foundation. Finish with powder for an even finish. A bright red lip and some simple black liner makes the look complete!

Lorde’s Violet Lip
Yes, you can wear purple on your lips this winter! Stick to a shade that compliments your skin tone—fair-skinned ladies, like Lorde, look best in a lighter, red-violet color, while medium and darker tones can go for darker, nearly-black purples and bright magenta hues. Pay attention to the finish as well: Lorde’s matte lipstick gives off a retro vibe, while glossy purples feel a little more girly-glam!

Shimmy Shade Trends

Don’t limit yourself to black liner this season! Jade Thirwell shimmery blue-green shade is a gorgeous match for her brown eyes. Green-eyed girls can try a purple liner, while blue eyes will really pop with a bright magenta or reddish violet. Liquid liner works best with brighter hues, since it won’t smudge as easily as a pencil formula!

Jennifer Lawrence’s Coral Lips

Take a cue from JLaw and go fresh-faced for the holidays! Just a little black mascara and a coral gloss are all you need for a perfectly pretty party look.
Kat Graham’s Purple Shadow
Purple is the eye shadow color of the season. It’s surprisingly easy to wear, and so much more fun than traditional neutral shades! To keep it from feeilng costume-y, choose a light plum shadow that’s slightly shimmery, and stick to black mascara and liner at the waterline.
Kylie Jenner’s Liquid Metal Shadow
Kylie may have gotten grills recently, but her metallic shadow is an even easier way to add some gold to your look! Choose a cream formula for mega impact, and keep the rest of your makeup matte so your eyes really shine.
Selena Gomez’s Glossy Berry Lips
Selena proves that nearly-black lipstick can look glam, not goth! Balance out a deep berry shade by adding tons of mascara, but not too much of anything else.
Danielle Bradbery’s Beautiful Bronze
Get a pretty glow this winter by swapping your blush out for bronzer! Choose one that’s just a shade or two lighter than your natural skin tone for a pretty (not fake-looking) glow.
Karlie Kloss’s Major Glow
Even if you aren’t headed anywhere warm over winter break, you can still fake a gorgeous glow! The key is to apply shimmery bronzer in a “3” motion, starting at your forehead and sweeping down to hit under your cheekbones and then your jawline. Finish off by applying an illuminating highlighter to the apples of your cheeks!

Jennette McCurdy’s Sparkling Lip Gloss

If there’s one time you can totally pull off glitter-infused gloss, it’s during the holidays! Wear it alone for a subtle shimmer, or layer it over your favorite red lipstick for a more dramatic look.
