MIAMI FASHION DISTRICT
Miami changes every time I see it. Over the years I have seen this area transform from being riddled with crime to its most current explosion of color and arts. What was once grungy graffiti lined streets reflecting the previous nights gang war mob signatures has now become a fresh breath of creative energy. As a designer, I have visited this district for many years from the days going with my mother after school to my present day visits for fabrics and merchandise for my own collections. Today, the Fashion District is the most colorful experience to explore filled with the creations of artist from all over the world. They come to this place to paint and share their talents, leaving a mark that can be enjoyed by everyone who discovers this incredible place. It is no longer week from its struggles with crime, it is strong and flourishing with vibrant artistic energy and I hope to see this trend continue.

Eventually this district will have no choice but to rezone the repressed surrounding areas around it, but just as all things must change, it would be terrific to see this area continue to grow with more fashion vendors and wholesale markets competing with those in New York and
Art allows us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time. Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes and learning from them and when we manage to communicate our inspiration on some level with another, that is when Art has found us.
